2022 Summer Events

 

PANCAKE BREAKFAST – Saturday May 28th, 8:00 – 10:30 The annual all-you-can-eat breakfast kicks off our summer season.  Enjoy the blueberry and regular pancakes, sausage, orange juice, coffee and milk and we will be ready to serve at the Presque Isle Lodge. Come on back again to enjoy a fabulous breakfast and the beginning of another great season. Breakfast charge is $7.00 foradults, $3.00 for children.


PIE & GAME NIGHT – JUNE 22 – 7:00 pm until everyone is happy.  It begins with cards or games you bring along to play with your friends or family. Bring a pie or treat to share. Held at the Presque Isle Lodge. 


ICE CREAM SOCIAL & TASTE OF GRAND LAKE – JULY 9, 6:00 – 7:30 Homestead Park. Remember - delicious ice cream with a variety of toppings is nutritious and represents summertime! The price of the healthy serving is $3.00 per person. And new this year is the Taste of Grand Lake.  Tasty homemade baked goods donated by members are raffled off. Selection includes pies, breads, cakes, cookies and more!  Tables and chairs will be set up on the park lawn for your seating comfort.

CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT! JULY 16, 10:00 – 1:00 Homestead Park

The cornhole tournament was pretty popular last year so let's try it again.  Even if you’ve never played cornhole, grab a partner and head over to Homestead Park!  Bring your own food and drink. Limited to the first 25 teams of 2. $5 entry fee per person. First and 2nd place cash prize. Contact Jeff or Meaghan Duly.   989-513-0406. jlduly@gmail.com.


GRAND LAKE SAILING REGATTAS - JULY 2 & AUGUST 6 - Sailboats of all types gather at the south end of Grand Island at 1:30. There will be two buoys set up to mark the starting line. Boats will hear a 5-minute gun and a starting gun and should begin the race at the starting gun by crossing the starting line between the two buoys. Race counterclockwise around Grand Island, 1 lap, with the finish line being marked by two buoys at the south end of the channel between Grand Island and the mainland.


GARAGE SALE DAYS – JULY 29 & 30, 10:00 – 4:00 The GLA has been hosting this event for 30 years. This is typically held on the last Friday and Saturday of July. When you register, your address is included on the map. If you wish to participate and are not a GLA member, a $10 donation (or a single membership) is requested to help defer the cost of advertising. Maps are available after 5:00 pm Thursday evening at the Birch Hill Store, the Portage Store, the PI Library, Woody's Grand Lake and PI Harbor Assn Clubhouse.


ANNUAL ARTS AND CRAFT SHOW – AUGUST 13, 10:00 – 4:00 Deb Burr has chaired this event for many years on the Homestead Grounds and Chapel Green. This year she will have the help of Meaghan Duly and Nancy Stevens. This is always an enjoyable event for all the visitors to our area. Dozens of vendors showing their handmade wares at Homestead Park and Chapel Green.



POKER RUN ON GRAND LAKE – AUGUST 20, 5:00 – 7:00
W-E-E-E-‘R-E B-A-A-A-C-K! And jokers are still wild! Food, refreshments, and
prizes. We want you to rev those boats, put on your poker face and….. Come out for a rip roarin', face bluffin' time. Pre-registration begins June 1 st . Please call Russ Kauffman at 989 595 6056. There is a limit of 23 boats and cost is $15.00 per person in attendance. Maps to the 7 docks will be available at P.I.H.A. between 2pm-4pm, 8/21. Seven docks will host a card for you to pick up between 5pm and 7pm. Remember, the last time we had a floating dock in the middle of the lake. Park your boat, start your car and gather your cards to party at the PIHA Clubhouse @ 7:30pm.  Food, refreshments, and prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd high poker hands. Questions, please call
